Trust No One: The hunt for the crypto king

Trust No One The Hunt For The Crypto King Racheals World Reviews 2

I mean, I know absolutely nothing about crypto trading, or it’s called currency, but Netflix documentaries are often top-notch, so I decided, why not? I love watching documentaries about topics I’m completely green about cause the knowledge and information I learn by the end opens me up to a new, different world, and it has helped my introverted self be able to hold conversations with people from all walks of life.

This was my mentality going in, and yes, now I know something about crypto trading. This is an investigative documentary about the 2018 death of Gerry Cotton, founder of QuadrigaCX, which was once the largest cryptocurrency exchange. After his death, $250 million disappeared because Cotton was allegedly the only person with passwords to the wallets where the money was stored.

Crypto trading is actually people playing risk games with their money. I still don’t understand the whole concept of buying and selling; isn’t it like more or less of betting, but with a fancy name? One thing is for sure, Gerry Cotton is one of the most innocent geeks looking villians I have ever seen. Looks like dude was/is smarter than everyone thinks, two theories that both have valid points, one he was the victim and that his wife and his business partner are the real villain’s ( wife being the only person who was his corpse, his business partner already had a shady criminal past, would answer the question of whereabouts of the money) or second theory is that Gerry fooled everyone, it’s impossible that only one person had the passwords to the wallets and he came off as really smart and cunning. After all, angels make the best devils. So, as a true crime documentary, yes, I had/ still have a lot of questions about the whole case, and well, I think the guy is alive.

Would I recommend it, yes, but to curious little beings like me who want to understand this part of the world. This can be a great introduction, but we probably need to watch 10 more documentaries to fully understand crypto trading.
